Matthew 16:13 – 20 NKJV          Sermon Title: “Who / What is the Church?”

C – Christ centered, Christ like, Christian

H – Holy….be Holy for God is holy

U – Unique, Unparalleled, Unprecedented, Unstoppable

R – righteous, justified meaning declared righteous

C – called out ones, ecclesia, chosen

H – Hill, a Hill called Calvary; Golgotha Hill leads to us being Heaven bound

Further explained:

C – Christ centered, Christ like, Christian, Acts 11:26, “And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch”

H – Holy….be Holy for God is holy; 1 Peter 1:14 – 16 says “14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

U – Unique, Unparalleled, Unprecedented, Unstoppable; Again, Matthew 16:18 says,  18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades(Hell) shall not [g]prevail against it.”    Jesus’ church is unstoppable, it is built to last... One Accord is built to last

R – Righteous, justified meaning we are declared righteous

C – Called out ones, ecclesia, chosen – Eph 1:4,  4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, “

H – Hill, a Hill called Calvary; Golgotha Hill leads to us being Heaven bound
